The context of purification for the mother is indirectly "holidays" for the mother as she is free from religious obligation to travel to worship in the sanctuary in Jerusalem and free from marital duty to fulfill the needs of her husband for the stipulated period depending on the gender of the baby. Of course the longer holidays means it is more beneficial to the mother.
Reference Leviticus Chapter 12
Lev 12:1 And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 12:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
Lev 12:3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
Lev 12:4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.
Lev 12:5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
Lev 12:6 And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
Lev 12:7 Who shall offer it before YHWH, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
Lev 12:8 And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
First of all, this ceremonial law is applicable to the mother in respect of travelling to worship in the sanctuary of Yah'weh God in Jerusalem and to abstain from sexual intimacy as a form of control against early pregnancy after child-birth. Doubling the period of purification for the birth of a baby girl does not mean the girl is more sinful than the birth of a baby boy as the burnt offering and the sin offering for both gender of the babies are identical vide Leviticus 12: 6 "And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest"
The mother giving birth to a baby boy is subject to the 7 days of her impurity and follow by 33 days of her purification i.e. a total of 40 days of purification whereas the birth of a baby girl is subject to 14 days of her impurity and follow by 66 days of her purification i.e. a total of 80 days of her purification.
The rational for the fixed days of purification for the male or female child-birth is recorded in the Book of Jubilees Chapter 3 as spoken by Yahweh God. Adam was put to a deep sleep for 6 days when Yahweh took a rib from him and created a woman. Then 2 weeks later Yahweh sent the woman called Eve to meet Adam and he knew her for the first time. Adam was sent into the Garden of Eden on the 40th day after the creation of Eve. However Yahweh sent Eve into the Garden of Eden on the 80th day. The duration of purification for the birth of a male or female child follows the days of purification of Adam and Eve since the time before they enter the Garden of Eden.
This is the theological reason for 40 days of purification for the birth of a male child and 80 days for a female child. It is record in the tablet in Heaven according to the Book of Jubilees of the Hebrews.
[The Book of Jubilees: Chapter 3]
1 And on the six days of the second week we brought, according to the word of God, unto Adam all the beasts, and all the cattle, and all the birds, and everything that moves on the earth, and everything that moves in the water, according to their kinds, and according to their types: the beasts on the first day; the cattle on the second day; the birds on the third day; and all that which moves on the earth on the fourth day; and that which moves in the water on the fifth day.
2 And Adam named them all by their respective names, and as he called them, so was their name.
3 And on these five days Adam saw all these, male and female, according to every kind that was on
4 the earth, but he was alone and found no helpmeet for him. And the Lord said unto us: 'It is not
5 good that the man should be alone: let us make a helpmeet for him.' And the Lord our God caused a deep sleep to fall upon him, and he slept, and He took for the woman one rib from amongst
6 his ribs, and this rib was the origin of the woman from amongst his ribs, and He built up the flesh in its stead, and built the woman. And He awaked Adam out of his sleep and on awaking he rose on the sixth day, and He brought her to him, and he knew her, and said unto her: 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called
7 [my] wife; because she was taken from her husband.' Therefore shall man and wife be one and therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and cleave unto his wife, and they shall be
8 one flesh. In the first week was Adam created, and the rib -his wife: in the second week He showed her unto him: and for this reason the commandment was given to keep in their defilement,
9 for a male seven days, and for a female twice seven days. And after Adam had completed forty days in the land where he had been created, we brought him into the garden of Eden to till and keep it, but his wife they brought in on the eightieth day, and after this she entered into the garden
10 of Eden. And for this reason the commandment is written on the heavenly tablets in regard to her that gives birth: 'if she bears a male, she shall remain in her uncleanness seven days according to the first week of days, and thirty and three days shall she remain in the blood of her purifying, and she shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor enter into the sanctuary, until she accomplishes these
11 days which (are enjoined) in the case of a male child. But in the case of a female child she shall remain in her uncleanness two weeks of days, according to the first two weeks, and sixty-six days
12 in the blood of her purification, and they will be in all eighty days.' And when she had completed these eighty days we brought her into the garden of Eden, for it is holier than all the earth besides and
13 every tree that is planted in it is holy. Therefore, there was ordained regarding her who bears a male or a female child the statute of those days that she should touch no hallowed thing, nor
14 enter into the sanctuary until these days for the male or female child are accomplished.
This is the law and testimony which was written down for Israel, in order that they should observe (it) all the 15 days. And in the first week of the first jubilee, [1-7 A.M.] Adam and his wife were in the garden of Eden for seven years tilling and keeping it, and we gave him work and we instructed him to do everything.

BOOK OF GENESIS
Gen 2:16 And YHWH Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Gen 2:18 And YHWH Elohim said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Gen 2:19 And out of the ground YHWH Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
Gen 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
Gen 2:21 And YHWH Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Gen 2:22 And the rib, which YHWH Elohim had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
The first 40 days of purification for a male child symbolizes the trial or judgment of Yahweh God. Yahweh spoke to Moses for 40 days and 40 nights on the Mount Sinai as a trial for the people of Israel. After Moses led the Israelites to cross the Red Sea which is a form of water baptism, they were free from circumcision for 40 years during the wandering in the wilderness (Joshua 5:5-6). Moses failed to enter the promised land due to his disobedience on the commandments of Yahweh.
Yah'shua fasted for 40 days and nights during the temptation in the Judean wilderness. He was condemned , crucified, died and raised on the third day and then appeared spiritually for a period of 40 days to his apostles, disciples and believers. While the first part of the law for 40 days was in preparation for the ministry of Yah'shua, the second part of grace for 40 days was to give birth to the Church as symbolized by Eve - the woman.
Great emphasis is placed on the 40 days of grace before the birth of the Church could come forth from the descent of the Holy Spirit on all the apostles, disciples and believers on the Day of Pentecost which is 50 days from the day of resurrection of Yah'shua. Hence the 80 days of purification for the birth of a baby girl is very significant which prophesied to the formation of the Church that is preceded by 40 days of teachings and companionship by our Lord Yah'shua.
The 40 days of trial or judgment is normal for all Hebrews male descendants. It is the additional 40 days of purification for the birth of baby girls which is beneficial for the woman as she is free from the obligation to travel a long distance to worship in the sanctuary of Yahweh and free from the marital duty to meet the sexual demand of her husband.
The God that removed such law so as to deny the rights of the woman of 40 days extra holidays for the birth of a female child is a proof that He is not the same God of Yah'weh who has established His law on the tablets in Heaven. The Church could not be established by Yah'shua without His 40 days of appearance on earth after His resurrection. The 40 days of fasting by Yah'shua and temptation of the Devil is parallel to the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness of the Israelites. In the prophetic idiom, a day is equivalent to a year of suffering.
After the period of 40 days Moses came down from Mt Sinai with 2 tablets of stones in his hands with the Ten Commandments.
Exo 24:17 And the sight of the glory of YHWH was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
Exo 24:18 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
Three thousand Hebrews idolaters were killed in a single day!
Exo 32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith YHWH Elohim of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
Exo 32:28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
Yahweh God gave Moses another chance to receive the Ten Commandments on 2 tablets of stone after another 40 days and nights of fasting.
Exo 34:27 And YHWH said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
Exo 34:28 And he was there with YHWH forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
Exo 34:29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses knew not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
So there was a total of 80 days and nights of fasting before the Law of Yahweh was permanently given to them:
Exo 34:32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that YHWH had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
Exo 34:33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
Lord Yahshua had the similar encounter of 40 days and nights of fasting while in the wilderness and aother 40 days with His apostles after His resurrection - a total of 80 days. Then there was 3,000 souls were baptized on a single day to accept Yahshua the Messiah.
For 40 days of fasting in the wilderness:-
Luke 4:1 And Yahushua being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
Luke 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of Elohim, command this stone that it be made bread.
For 40 days after resurrection:
Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of YHWH:
We see that a total of 80 days -- 40 days fasting and 40 days of teachings as prelude to the formation of the Church whereby 3,000 sould were added to the Church in a single day!
Act 2:38 Then Kepha said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YHWH our Elohim shall call.
Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
