You have quoted the verse out of context and twisted the words of Lord Jesus to mean things which He has never said. The wicked and adulterous Generation are the Pharisees and Sadducees who are not heard of them today.

Mat 16:1  The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven.


Lord Jesus Christ had already forgiven their sins.
Luke 23:34  Then said Jesus, Father, FORGIVE THEM; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Read the context first. It is because of the unbelief of the disciples of Lord Jesus who cannot cast out the devil in a child and NOTHING about the Nation of Israel.

The verse say "in vain they do worship Me" and it does not mean " Not to worship me". In "vain" means "useless or meaningless" Muslims pray 5 times a day which is in vain as Lord Jesus said that is vain repetitions:

The context is about Parables spoken by Lord Jesus Christ.

The above verse is applicable to Muslims who have heard the Gospel of Lord Jesus but still cannot understand. Poor Muslims!
